Possessed of an encyclopedic knowledge of film in general and genre cinema in particular, plus a suite of strongly held opinions on same, Travis is a veteran commentator whose work has appeared in The Guardian, Empire Magazine, SBS, Metro, Flicks.com.au, Junkee, AccessReel, Cinema Australia, The Curb, and more. He was the Music and Arts Editor for X-Press Magazine from 2012 – 2015, and the News Editor and Head Writer for FilmInk from 2016 – 2018.

In 2013 he produced the independent rock documentary Fridey at the Hydey, directed by Dr. Lindsay Hallam.

In 2020 he won the Australian Film Critic Association’s Award for Best Review of an Australian Film for his essay on Jennifer Kent’s The Nightingale, published in Metro.

He is heard regularly on ABC Radio’s Weekends with Christine Anu, and guests on a number of podcasts.

He’s the guy in the leather jacket, and he hates talking in the third person.
